There will be one portable toilet at each of the marathon and half marathon aid stations. As well as numerous at the starting line, finish line and at the bus pickup location.

Spectators and crew are only allowed at the designated spectator locations (see below)--runners getting support from anyone other than volunteers or race staff outside of those spectator areas will be disqualified. No baby joggers allowed on the course. The course is planned to be open for only 7 hour. Friends and family can run part of the course with you but they must not drive anywhere on the course to meet you except to the designated spectator locations(see below).

Runners who would like support in addition to what is to be provided by the race may ask the race director for approval.

Spectators:
This is not a very spectator friendly race, there are only 3 spots on the marathon course(and only 2 on the half marathon course) where your friends or family could see you during the race (mi 8.5 and 19 for the marathon and mile 6 for the half marathon and at the finish for both) and they must follow these directions exactly. Winthrop and the Methow Valley are however full of things for your friends and family to do while you run. One great option for them is to volunteer at an aid station--they get see you on the course and get a free ticket for the post race meal.

Lodging:
The Chewuch InnThe River Run Inn, The North Cascades Mountain Hostel and Sun Mountain Lodge are race sponsors and are good options. For other options check out the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce or Central Reservations

Camping: There are lots of options for nice tent camping all over the place around here. A little closer the race are a few private campgrounds, in Winthrop, Pine Near RV and CampgroundBig Twin LakesKOAand a state park(Pearrygin Lake), and the River Bend Campground in Twisp.  The Forest Service also has nice campgrounds on hwy 20 just west of Mazama--Early Winters Campgound is the closest to the race of those.

Weather:
Located on the sunny and dry side of the state there's a good chance the sky will be clear and blue. The average temperatures for the marathon start are 35-40 degrees, the half marathon start 55-60 and by midday it'll likely be in the 70's to low 80's-- perfect running weather! But this is the mountains so anything is possible...

There will be NO Pre Race Meal or Packet Pick-up the day before the race! There are numerous great restaurants in the area to choose from. Some recommendations:
